These are the standards that guide everything published on Activate Press.
Accuracy and sourcing
We verify facts before publication and prefer primary sources: official documents, research papers, court records, data published by the organisation concerned, and people with direct knowledge. When something cannot be confirmed, we say so. We do not present speculation as fact.
Labels
Every article carries one primary section and an article type. Readers can always tell reporting from interpretation and from opinion: News, Analysis, Explainer, Opinion and Sponsored are shown on the article and in the page data.
Health, money and law
Our health reporting explains evidence and how health systems work; it is not medical advice. Our business coverage explains economic developments; it is not investment advice. Readers should consult a qualified professional for decisions about their own health, finances or legal matters.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and add a visible correction or update note at the top of the article explaining what changed. We do not silently rewrite published facts. To report an error, use the Contact Us form and choose Correction request.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Advertisers and sponsors have no say over our journalism. Writers must disclose any personal or financial interest connected to a story they work on.
Images
Images are captioned and credited. Illustrations are labelled as illustrations and are never presented as photographs of real events.
Times and dates
Publication and update times are shown in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
