Privacy Policy

How Activate Press handles personal data: no visitor cookies, an anonymous article view counter, a contact form delivered by email and no third-party trackers.

Last updated

This policy explains what information Activate Press (activate.press) processes when you read the site or contact us. We have kept the website simple on purpose so that we collect as little as possible.

What we do not do

  • We do not set cookies for readers of the public website.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers or social media scripts.
  • Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page does not contact a font provider.
  • Share buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to a social network unless you click one.

Article view counter

To show a “Most read” list we count article views ourselves. The count is stored as a daily total per article. We do not store IP addresses, cookies or user accounts with it. To stop double counting, the server keeps a salted, one-way hash derived from your connection and browser for at most one hour, and your browser remembers for the current tab session that it has already counted the article (session storage, deleted when you close the tab). Daily totals are kept for 90 days.

Contact form

When you use the Contact Us form we process your name, email address, the topic and your message in order to reply. The message is sent by email to the editors and is not stored in the website database. To limit abuse, a salted, one-way hash of your connection is kept for up to one hour. The legal basis is your consent, which you give with the checkbox on the form and can withdraw at any time.

Server logs

Like any website, the server that hosts Activate Press may record technical request data such as IP address, time and requested address in its access logs, for security and operation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to processing and to complain to a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, write to us through the Contact Us page.

Changes

We will update this page if the website starts processing data in a new way. See also our Cookie Policy.
