Sue Wang emphasizes cultural power
Sue Wang, chair of the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), opened the seventh Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) in Taipei on Friday. She said artificial intelligence reshapes how creative industries and even human society are defined. Wang stated that AI could take on technical tasks but could not replace the elements of creative work that move people. She urged Taiwan to put its technology strengths to work in ways that serve people and improve their lives. "I hope more people believe that culture is power," Wang said. She noted that cultural content can help create a happier society in this rapidly changing era. Wang also said this edition serves as an important milestone because industry participants work to build partnerships through cross-sector, cross-platform, and cross-border collaboration.

Culture Minister Li Yuan, who chaired the evaluation committee at the first TCCF edition, said he watched the event grow from an exhibition into a market and an international platform. He stated that the Ministry of Culture and TAICCA want TCCF to become an Asian creative-content brand. This would help cultural workers across Asia and the world find opportunities and funding. The opening ceremony, which actor Allison Lin hosted, included various international luminaries such as Weta FX CEO Daniel Seah, Toei Company President and CEO Yoshimura Fumio, and the director of the French Office in Taipei, Frederic Laplanche. Other attendees included Wang Ting-an, the executive secretary of the National Development Fund, and Fernando Mariano Schmidt Hernandez from the Chilean Trade Office. Marco Lombardi, who represents the Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office in Taipei, also joined the festivities.
